Ten years ago, we purchased land in Waupoos, Prince Edward County, Canada. We planted eight acres of vinifera grapes, and soon gained new (and deserved) respect for farmers. What a learning experience it has been for the three of us, dealing with draught, five foot tall weeds, and ravenous racoons (not to mention the birds!). But we did learn, and the vines rewarded our hard work. Our first vintage, the 2006 Riesling was hugely successful and, in fact, sold out faster than we could have imagined!
The fall of 2007 saw a fabulous harvest of both Riesling and Cabernet Franc. We’ve been selling the Riesling since mid-March and it’s selling even faster than it’s predecessor. Our Cabernet Franc will be available in early May. Both wines are available only at Luke’s!
So, come to Luke’s Gastronomy for a culinary experience unlike any other. A meal prepared by one of the most talked about Chef’s in the industry, with ingredients that are 95% local. And to drink with that meal? A bottle of Riesling or Cabernet vinified from grapes grown less than 60 miles away!
