Rimfire Photography, Lahaina Photographers

I always recommend Sunrise sessions for families with small ones for numerous reasons…and it is primarily due to the time gap my customers (and all tourists) experience when they arrive on Maui to their holiday season. For 99 percent of my clients, they are already up briiiight and early, well before our scheduled session – so at the time we meet, they’re already wide awake! Well…maybe not Mom & Dad;–RRB- Mini contacted me with visions of pastels, neutrals, some greenery, lots of lava stone, and some bright sunshine to catch her growing belly, her husband, and their adorable son.

Luckily, this location at Lahaina family photographers is perfect for all the above! I always arrive slightly early to my sessions in hopes I could be there before my clients so they have a reference point…but in this case, Mini and her Ohana had arrived! And apparently, they’d been there for over 30 minutes just taking in all the beauty! I mean…can you blame them? Some of my favorite moments from my Sunrise Session with this adorable family at one of Maui’s most gorgeous beaches <3

The heavens in these pictures are magnificent, am I wrong? In fact, they were beyond magnificent…but only for a short moment. To begin with, let me introduce Allyson & Eric…

Allyson & Eric are seeing Maui, Hawaii for their very first time, choosing to bask in sunlight for the best baby moon ever. And an absolute trooper & ray of sun (more on this shortly…). Eric, her patient, awesomely adventurous and optimistic husband, stands with her side as one of the luckiest guys ever. They are both, in reality, extremely blessed!

Mix it together with the ocean & Maui, and you’ve got me hooked for life! The forecast called for partly cloudy skies, sunshine and 5 mph winds – fairly perfect if you ask me! We arrived at our place optimistic, however, Mother Nature decided to surprise us with clouds rolling in deep, sprinkles and a great deal of white wash in the ocean. After much discussion, laughs, and an option to reschedule, we decided to roll to the empty beach and make it our own. And I’m so happy we did…

With my state-of-the-art weather studying abilities, I knew we’d have some sunlight shortly, but not for long. Input Mr. Sun – for about 10 minutes – it was magnificent! Sprinkles, rainbows, the whole gamut. Then, came a change in winds, and much more clouds…along with a downpour. Allyson & Eric did not bat an eyelash however – they said”the series must carry on!” . I promised them the sunset could be well worth it…and that I chased by it together with my life & camera (at water-housing of course)…

A outfit change, soggy sand, more rain and a lot of love later, we made our way to the sea to receive whatever submerged maternity shots we could with all the semi-clear waters. It was only then, the rain stopped, sunlight angled perfectly throughout the clouds, and we were blessed with the most gorgeous conditions & sunset . Not going to toot my own horn…but I kinda knew this could happen – and I am SO glad these two (and their miniature ) held on with smiles!

Out of our Rain & Shine, beach & sea photography session at Makena, Hawaii. Among my favorites and undoubtedly, one for the books!
